Thanks Gianluca.
My "problem" was that the plugin-dll was directly in the plugin-folder - not in a separate subfolder.
Now all works.
Opening folders from SyMenu in TC works fine - tested with about 4 folders.
It opens everytime a new tab in TC. That's good!

If I found bugs, I will let you know. But for now - nothing.

Well to make SyMenu shows a menu entry for plugins you have to "install" at least one plugin.

To "install" a plugin you have to:

update SyMenu to the last available version

download the plugin

unzip the package inside the SyMenu 'Plugin' folder (you can find it at the same level of Config, Icons, Profiles and ProgramFiles folders)

every SyMenu plugin must reside inside a specific subfolder. In case of this plugin its folder is called 'SyMenu.Plugin.OpenFolder'

restart SyMenu and configure your new plugin

I know that the procedure could be automated but for now it is not possible.
Let me know if you have any problems with that (it is experimental yet).

Hi Gianluca,
WOW - that's great! I also use TotalCommander and also hate opening folders in the Eplorer.
I use TC as one instance only - so it should be possible only to start TC again.

btw. I get no entry for plugins in menu.

SyMenu Open folder

Prerequisites
SyMenu version 8.00 or higher.

Description
I really hate when SyMenu opens a folder in Windows Explorer because I'm used to work with some Explorer replacement tools. BTW my favourite one is Total Commander.
Well when SyMenu opens a folder I usually have to copy the full path from Explorer and past it to TC to do what I need because I totally disaccustomed to the way Explorer works.

But since SyMenu supports a "rude and raw" plugin system, why don't write anything to make this work for me??? Well this is the spirit of IT programs!!

Installation:
- Download the archive and extract the folder contained into \SyMenu\Plugin\

SyMenu.Plugin.OpenFolder.zip

Changelog
2024.03.08 - New Version v0.9
- Framework update and minor graphical fixes
2018.01.02 - New Version v0.8
- Added Cubic Explorer
2017.02.25 - New Version v0.7
- Fix for Unreal Commander beta version
2015.08.09 - New Version v0.6
- Added Double Commander
2015.01.14 - New Version v0.5
- Bug fix.
2015.01.03 - New Version v0.4
- Added Q-Dir.
2014.09.21 - New Version v0.3
- Added XYplorer.
2013.11.14 - New Version v0.2
- Fixed some bug in Total Commander: now the new tab is opened on active side and not always on the left one.

edited by Gianluca on 08/03/2024
