Hello blackcrack.
I don't like very much your proposal. Very often people download beta version of certain programs and don't give any feedback to the dev.
I prefer count on few people but these persons have to make a commitment to really do the beta testing.
To reply to your second question, no SyMenu doesn't work on Mono because you have to use the particular Mono libraries to manage UI to have a double compatibility and I didn't. Furthermore Mono is useful if you use it on linux system but SyMenu is not completely written in manage code, so that it will remain not-compatible the same.

Hiho

why do you not add an own tread for this "beta" and all who want tested,
can posting diffrent things on it .. this spezially tread
this named "open beta testing" and make possible for all
to testing new betas and gan get you an feedback why you need
On this Tread can you tell direcktly what it is need for testing and how if it is possible..
(need to testing :

this .......

and this ....

and maybe more ...

)
with this do you have an possible for have an more larger Beta testing group..
and this casual, unforced and open (this make more fun like i think)

as example :
http://ghisler.com/850_b9.php
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php?f=24

but the link to the programm there in forum into the "BetaTread" as pinned and "need to testing:"
and maybe with subtreads for any what you need to testing "'testing'-> '? working well in Network' "
with this possible have any user an free way to testing and get you an report direcktly in you forum
and the other can read it and can confirm also or not confirm ..

Maybe be some peoples in Linux and use it with wine and in wine works also via \root\and\the\path\tonfs\fs
or an other path, naturally have wine also FS-Dives but wine also in other path's also
so it is SyMenu very useful for Wine in Linux as an own "menu" but.. humm.. need Netfm.2 :\
(if it is possible if works the Netframework 2 in wine also ... mono ?
("Need for launch: Netframework 2/Mono " ? maybe an possible/suggestion for testing also .. in Mono)

i <3 Risk !!!

best regards
Blacky
<em>edited by blackcrack on 11/19/2013</em>

Hello to all.

Occasionally someone ask to me why SyMenu doesn't work on the network paths. Well actually it works if you map the network location as a network drive but the request is slightly different.

The response will be surprising: SyMenu works quite well over network paths but this feature is not well tested and I closed it.

By Now the program is becoming huge and if I open this feature it will be quite impossible for me to test it all so you'll have a buggy SyMenu... well it is not our style isn't it?
Anyway I could create a special beta version that is able to work over the network and I could distribute it to the people that want to test it. In change I would like some regular bug reports so I will be able to fix every problem and we can reach a final version within the end of 2014.

What do you think about that?
If someone would like to offer himself for this experiment, in the name of the science, please send to me a private message or contact me through the web site.

Ciao!
